Question Oil Return Line at Oil Pan

Ever since I got the car back with the new motor and T76GTSH turbo setup, it's smoked very bad, even just at idle. I've already bypassed the turbo to make sure it wasn't the new engine. I'm going through correcting the shop's mistakes like installing a catch can and adding a an oil feed restrictor (I have a Mellings high volume oil pump so I have super-high oil pressure).

While under the car, I noticed that the oil return line taps the Canton Road Race pan about 3/4 of the way up from the bottom of the sump. I have a Turbowerx pump since the turbo is a little low, bit with the line entering the pan at that height, is it still going to just cause oil to backup into the turbo? I'm not sure if this is the right spot for the return.

it could be that you fixed your problem and still have oil in the exhaust, what did you do to clean it out

I don't have it running again yet. I'm doing the fixes now and changing the plugs (which were all soaked in oil so far). I just don't want to button everything back up and reinstall all of the turbo piping only to find I need to tear it our again.

I use the oil level sensor hole-so I doubt yoru location is the issue.

Id concentrate on your PCV situation.

Agreed, I've seen incorrectly plumbed PCV systems cause all kinds of problems like pushing oil past the turbo seals. I'm using a MM PCV Can and have had zero issues with oil smoke.

I was getting smoke on startup-I found oil in my 90 deg
intake adapter, and in my line to the surge valve-it had to be coming
thru the LS 6 valley fitting into the 90 deg adapter where I had plumbed
the vac. source-I will change that to a catch can setup

he said 3/4" from the bottom of the pan, Not the top. I assure you this isnt helping the situation one bit. My C6 pan has a low oil level and its about half way up the pan.
