Default Twin Turbo Gurus....Need help with sizing for 402

Ive built a few other turbo systems before for 4th generation camaros.
Im building a kit car now...I need turbo gurus with 1st hand experience to guide me on what twin turbos i need to get for my setup. also what size of tial wastegates should i get?
Im going to go with either MVS or MVR's

I want to daily drive at 800HP and Race at 1000HP. Fast spool up is very important to me...and so is throttle response. By watching the youtube videos...it looks like nelson racing has the magic combinations from turbonetics.

402 All forged Iron Block
Trick Flow 225 CNC heads
9.6:1 compresssion

I want to buy my turbos from either Turbonetics or Garret. I favor turbonetics because they look nicer and are cheaper but will consider garret if they spool faster/ perform better.

Turbonetics hurricane letys. 6665's. Comes with .81 ar. Or use the t series and have them put in the .68's ar. Spool fast and make your power. Great bang for buck plus their warranty is awesome

If fast spool is really essential, a pair of these should get you there

Although fast spool is itself a vague term and dependant on other factors.

There are a few decent TT builds here on the Gen5 forum.

I asked the same question 6 months ago and had 2 less responses than you've had. The GT35 seems to be a good candidate as does any of the 62mm Turbonetics or Precision units. I ended up going with BW since they are extremely durable and the cheapest I looked at ( less than 1/2 the price of Garrett). Unfortunately they are harder to package. Good luck.

The S200 series are a lot smaller than the 60mm+ 300's and certainly on the Gen5 forum, the S200's have pushed beyond 1000hp without too much trouble.

Other than going for a ballbearing turbo I'd be using the BW's over anything else. They just tick all the boxes for budget, performance and reliability

I've owned quite a few BW turbos but not an S200. Heard a couple people ask about using them for a quick spooling set of compounds on a diesel though. Guess it would be kind of like running an HX35 or 35/40 hybrid.

The AGP TT kits for the Gen5 all give the S200's as their primary options, as small as 55mm or so and they claim they can hit near 1k

Not all turbo cars, but still a good reference as to what people are using

Nice build here, think they are on 56mm 200's ?

GT35's

Thats good information.

GT3582R's are sweet but they sure are expensive and i wonder if they would choke the engine off on the top end.

I like turbonetics prices, included polished housing and warranty. If i buy i think think im just going to go with journal bearing and save 1K. 500 a turbo to have a ball bearing on one end is ridiculous. I had a set of their BB turbos and i wasn't that impressed.

I would love to know the turbo/cam specs nelson racing uses on their LS turbo motors. That dude is a master.

Even a dummy could spec a cam that would make great power on a turbo LS.

Or if you wanted to avoid the dummy...or expert route, pretty much any stock cam, or LS9 will easily make 4 figures too.

So whilst there may be potential for "more" power in many areas.....it really wont be difficult to make plenty of power without being adventurous no matter what Nelson might use in theirs.
