Default Machine a V band out of flange on truck manifold

I am currently building a twin turbo setup for my lamborghini diablo replica setup.
Still trying to nail down my turbo sizing.

Instead of welding a v band flange onto a cast truck or camaro manifold I wonder if there is enough material there to just machine the stock flange into a v band? I have 2 cnc mills and cnc lathe in my shop. Im all about going the extra mile.lol Im currently working on a billet oil pan for my 408 so i can put 7 quarts of oil in it. I dont like the pans on the market. I want a thicker gasket flange...etc

Realistically, if you're doing all that you might as well just make a set of headers..... Other than that I don't think that have enough consistent wall thickness to machine something nice to a nominal size.Could you make the shape? Maybe, but I don't see you being able to make it to a size that will have readily available clamps and stuff available

I wouldn't bother they weld very easily. I'm a novice welder at best and mine turned out great with no preheat or controlled cooling.

Someone had done it here before,i think set-up is time consuming!

Someone definitely did it before....but got to be a lot easier just to weld to them. Certainly gives you more positioning options.

They weld so insanely easy that it almost seems pointless to go through the trouble.

if he's got a CNC mill, its not much work to get it fixtured.
almost no work to find the center of the outlet.
and maybe 20 lines of g-code to write...

First one may take as long as welding, second one a couple min. If he's got a 5 axis mill, fixture time drops considerably.

agreed. I have a big 5 axis. Probe and run boys.LOL

the advantage here VS welding is it will be one piece and wont crack. 321 stainless is too expensive for my tastes to make a proper manifold that will last in a daily driver.
