Wanted to get something asap so that was why I was interested in that sump but he says the pick up and so on has to come from the US anyway so not a lot of help. An LS1 sump from a commodore would be good. Not a lot available here from what I can find. Tried wreckers as well. Any ideas?

Pretty sure the guy I know of that did the 5.3 jet used the Commodore pan. And here in the states we don't even know what a Holden or a Commodore is. He just searched and found that it suited the application well. IIRC it's an 8 quart pan??? Wanna say (not entirely positive it's an accurate number) he paid something like $300 ish (US) for pan, pick-up, gaskets, and bolts... the whole sha-bang.

I'm really not gonna be much help sourcing parts in NZ, but if I have any bright ideas I'll be sure to pass them on.

Glad to hear this deal is making headway. Keep it up.

So I purchased that sump then the guy went to order the pick up and windage tray but there is a back order and wouldn't get here until July- bugger me! But hes happily refunding me, just back to square one, guess will have to look at jeggs. Could it be an option to cut down my 5.3 sump and pick up and give it more capacity sideways or forwards? Has anyone done this?

So the boat has twin fuel tanks plumed up to a surge tank. I have 2x1000hp external fuel pumps. What sort of pumps should use to fill the surge tank? I have the aftermarket 8an fuel rails to suit the truck manifold, what regulator should I use?

Depends how you're building it. In tank ? external ? etc ?

External the Carter low pressure pumps are decent and cheap, think you can get them in 100 or 125gph

Yes twin external pumps. There is a pump already fitted to fill the surge tank, but I don't know anything about it. Its an 044 style pump, can these work as a transfer/filler pump?

An 044 can work well as a lift pump, as long as the same rules apply. As long as it has a good clean gravity fed supply of fuel, they can flow a lot of fuel at low pressure.
NEVER allow such a pump to see air. It will reduce their life.

The transfer/filler pump that is fitted is mounted below the level of the tanks and the tank outlets are at the bottom of tanks so there shouldn't be any need for a lot of suction

It goes. Just had valve springs changed, engine runs well, no untoward noises or breathing. Tuning guy has just made a start tuning at zero boost, ran out of time, more tuning and boost next week hopefully
