Serious question: has anybody around here done a "sloppy mechanics style" supercharged build, like slapping a Procharger on a stock/stock-ish truck motor?

See that where I'm at. I set goals for my build, planned accordingly, purchased high quality used parts (turbo, WG, BOV, Injectors) and asked lots of questions. Some of my parts are mismatched but it works really well for me. I love the car, I still have AC, sway bars and full exhaust and will trap 121 in the quarter so I know its making decent power. I wanted a Procharger but I couldn't slowly piece one together like I could a turbo system so I went turbo.

Sloppy as in building a **** kit and putting it on a stock motor or a just procharger kit on a stock motor? People put procharger on trucks and stock ls1s all the time. Using a stock motor doesn't make it sloppy. There are 2 c5s on corvette forum that ran low 9s with stock bottom ends.

a pro for supercharger....it's really hard to throw one together "sloppy" unless you're attempting to make your own brackets and accessories, it's damn near impossible to screw up. I've seen some VERY sloppy turbo setups. especially when your average backyard mechanics start trying to build turbo manifolds.

I'm mostly wondering if people have managed to make big power pushing relatively high boost through lower flowing hardware, like cathedral port heads. Most of the supercharged truck setups I've seen have been simple low boost setups that weren't going for big power.

Really? This whole time I was assuming you were on LS3 hardware due to your signature. Thats good to hear. I'll have to find your build thread and read through it.

Granted they are PI (Mast) heads, but they are small ports, and aren't even maximized for the bigger bore.

Con to S/C hard as hell on parts and massive parasitic loss on high HP setups.

Can't afford RWD supercharger and had to settle for a GTP for $600.

Turbo, because Powerdyne BD-11 blowers suck.

or

Superchargers because Procharger F-3R > Master Power 7668.

Absolutely. Once you get into the big power setups, it's hard to argue against the performance and track record of turbos.

Speaking of mindless retards.. Does anyone spend time on the boosted LSX page? For **** sakes it's bad. I mean the stupid questions are one thing but the responses you get from people are just amazing.. I've never seen such a large collection of retards in one place.

Nope nobody has been fast with shitty cathedral heads. Not even 10 years ago when cathedrals and c5r was your only options.
