Holley High ram in first gen camaro
I am looking to see if the holley high ram will fit under a 6in cowl hood or maybe a 4 in cowl hood in my 68 camaro with the engine setting about 3/4 from the frame to oil pan.i want to make sure it fits before I do anything.Intake facing forward like normal. Any info and pics would be great.thanks in advance.

Mine does not fit. I got a two inch cowl hood with a stock subframe. A 4 inch
Might work tho. It hits right above the "Holley efi" logo.
On a side note pin on fiberglass ones seem to be made with the cowl swooping farther forward than the steel ones.

Mine fit's with a 4" cowl. My hood is a bolt on, but open in the middle unlike the steel hoods available from most vendors. I have a Moroso steel conversion pan that sits about 1/4" from the crossmember though. I have about 1/2" clearance with the hood closed. I don't have any good pics looking straight across the fenders to show how high it sits and the engine is out of the car right now for other work being done.

could just go with the Holley Midrise, slight loss in power, same design concept. Just my 2 cents. I would be curious if a notched (bottom bracing cut out) 2" cowl would fit it.

You serious? They are fucken garbage. NOTHING like the highrise manifolds except the same top. They make less power than a factory intake

I would go with the Edelbrock over the mid-ram any day. I hate the dual 4 hole lower design that looks like a standard dual 4 barrel intake with an adapter you have to bolt on and then the top plenum. Not sure why Holley couldn't have just made a shorter version of the hi-ram lower intake other than cost savings to use a lower that was already available.

Shows the mid rise (on this particular setup) puts out 31 extra horsepower over the stock LS1. I meant the midsize has the same look as the high rise. Not the same performance. I wish the high rise was 2 inches shorter so it would fit under the majority of the hoods it doesn't

I have a Art Morrison subframe with half height subframe bushings and need a 4" cowl. Fiberglass is nice since there is no bracing but you could cut the bracing on the 4" steel to make it work.
