You pretty much have to do 31 spline..

We used to break the 28 spline stuff with little to no power and a decent tire..

Spool and c clip elims is probably the cheapest and easiest thing.

Sorry to chime in on the rear end situation, but do you think you could take some measurements of the oil pan? Im tired of looking at 400 dollar pans and would love a cheaper option. How far back the sump starts and the total depth would be great

Here's what a CTSV oil pan on an AJE K member looks like:

Hey if you flip the AJE mounts around backwards to move the engine back a bit, can you get a measurement how far it moves back? Mine seems like it could go back a good 2" or more.

There's no way, I could turn them around my intake would hit the firewall. Even an inch further back wouldn't work

Sump was around 5.5" deep and 8" long. There was a small crack in it that looked like they tried to fill and sand and the holes didn't line up for the pan bolts. But it does fit great with the AJE k-member. Has a oil trap door and seems like it would go a great job if they payed a little closer attention to detail.

Bottom of sump doesn't hang lower than the AJE K-member cross brace.

Flaws in pan

Hard to see but this is a crack for sure.

Misaligned holes...

So I pinned the motor/trans this weekend for mockup. Fit the radiator in place of the AC condenser up under the core support.

I bought 1 of those pans, I'd better get it out and look it over. Nice build, are you going to use the oil pressure hole, for the gauge, for your turbo feed line? I was going to T in to it.

The crack you see looks like a weld fusion line to me. Looks like they weld a couple pieced of aluminum strip together at that point and then machine it flat. I'd just put a dab of RTV there and call it good.

Thanks! Aside from the $1000 or so worth of front end parts, the car really is a turd. Hail dented to hell, and in pretty poor shape on the outside. Inside has a spray bombed interior with a carpet kit and some knock off china seats. Nothing fancy.

Yeah but it's nice to have something to beat on and not worry about it getting scratched up or dirty etc. That's how I feel about mine anyway and it's made the whole car/hot rodding thing enjoyable for me again.

^exactly where I am at with mine. I love being able to park it in a mall parking lot or wherever and being like "**** will be fine". With my other car I freak out going inside of auto zone with it out there haha. Loving all the eBay parts and stuff so far. Keep us updated on that oil pan

Yea I hear ya, that was the goal. Second sentence on my first post!

Spent 3k on the Roller. It’s a beater on the outside. Original 4 cyl car. Lots of hail dents, scratches, missing paint etc. So I won’t be afraid to drive it anywhere!

Think I'm going with this turbo positioning...

Don't think the SSR intake will fit without major work. Probably run ls1/ls6 style instead.

Extended the light wiring harness and tucked it in the driver side fender with the main/starter relay...

Quick and dirty hotside is done. All mild steel 2.25". MIG welded. I'll wrap them towards the end. Got a killer deal on the blue WG's. I'll probably paint them, but they aren't really visible when installed.

Popped off the oily exh housings and cleaned/painted with the BBQ grill paint. Awesome paint if you've never used it. Holds up great, even on the exhaust housing. These will get a blanket eventually as well.

After welding up the manifolds I went to check the flange flattness. These weren't too bad, but I block sanded them with some 80G to clean them up. Could still used a little work.

Grabbed a $40 alternator bracket from Billet ICT. (right down the road from me i. wichita KS it turns out) Buddy also gave me a LS1 manifold. I'd have plenty of clearance with it, but I'd still like to use the SSR manifold if I can make it fit.

$450 TIG welder showed up too. Played with it a little. Need to setup a bench of some sort, hard to operate a foot pedal sitting/welding on the ground! I'll get to play with this more on the cold side. I'd never even held a TIG torch before. Just watched a youtube video and went to town. If the welds on my piping look that good I'll be more than happy with this welder.
