Default 4150 style or stock style TB

So I decided I'm going to run a VIC style setup on my new turbo 5.3 so would I pick up anything using a 4150 style TB with a carb style hat compared to an Elbow with a 90mm TB?

I researched it a while back. I decided to go with the elbow. However the high ram is a better option if you have the room.

Couple people I have talked to said they had distribution issues with the Holley high ram that's why I was looking at the Vic Jr and either a fast 4150 or Aaron's elbow and a 90

I picked up 42 rwhp from swapping the Vic/Elbow to a Hi-Ram intake.

If I was smart, I would have got the hi-ram. I thought the ease of routing the cold side the elbow would be the best choice. My nova has a hi-ram on it though.

You switched from a Victor Jr. to the Hi-Ram correct? I'd be willing to bet if you originally had a Super Victor, the swap to a Hi-Ram would be a wash.

OP this has been discussed on Yellow Bullet a few times, and from what I gather at ~ the 1000whp mark the 4 hole 4150 tb starts to become a restriction and an elbow with a round tb will pick up power.

I ended up getting a ProFlow intake for super cheap so I am going to run that for now. I will check on Yellowbullet for those threads though so I can learn some more
