made 608 at 10psi. man you wouldn't believe but I got the car back home after this and left it in the garage. brought it back out for Fathers Day and made some test passes and put about 50 miles on it. said to myself, lets make one more pass before I head home. engine went BOOM....grenade the whole bottom end. Boost controller line came off turbo while I was in the top of 2nd gear. lol...

Do yourself a favor and put a spring in that'll only go to a boost level you feel is safe should the line blow off again. There are other variables to take into account, but it's a good starting point IMO.

@ 39 seconds in your video: you should really try to get the upper radiator hose off of the hot side. The pressed in steel tube can be rotated and trim/splice the hose.

That was the next day or should I say same day when I got back to Louisiana after Flaco didn't finish until around 2 am..4 hour drive back then work at 7am-5. Man talk about tired. But THANKS, yes I had moved all that around a few days later after I touched the car again. About 7 hours of sleep in 3 days will DRAIN YOU.

Few pics I took the next day after the engine blew. What ya think? Gorgeous huh! The Rod bolts never budged and the bearings were all cute. Everything in the bottom of engine was either bent or broken

So you blew up the motor on 10psi and 600hp? Something doesn't seem right.

Sheeezus!!! That bottom end is COMPLETELY hulled. Hate that it happened, but glad to see you going all in now with a bomb proof bottom end.

I did miss that part. Boost spikes, that aren't tuned for it, are messy.

Eeesh, carnage. Looked like the 5.3 I had in my tahoe that I hydrolocked while I was up on the limiter. Who would've known water deflection from the front tire would splash enough water up through the K&N while mud bogging. haha

That's big power though.

Oh no, we had it tuned up to 16.5psi on the dyno...THAT was BIG power for me and I was satisfied at that level it made at 16.5psi...buthat's turned it back down to 10psi as that was more than enough for the street.

Yes it was. The block was busted and cracked also. NO metal made it to the top of the engine nor did it do damage to the heads. So that's saved. But the cam has like 3 nicks on it. I'm thinking it's trashed, which it wasn't. I'll post pics of cam on my lunch break. Yes now I'm just gonna forged the whole bottom end.

My first ever turbo build. Not first ls. But I think I did very good for my first turbo build. All done by me. I'm gonna research boost spike safety nets I can add to the car like killing spark or something.

sucks man. Engine was out the next day and torn down the day after that. Trashed it all. Lol. Got another on the stand ready to see the machine shop next week.
