Default Darleen Z28 370 E85 S476 9.17 @ 147 so far...

I changed the thread title because its now kind of a info and results thread.

First time down the track in an auto and it feels good Make sure you watch until the end.

One thing I will give the t56 credit for is not leaking out every orifice like a th400 lol. Don't mind the orange thing it runs 8's on a shitty track, but I helped him get there so now its my turn to catch up. Oh and the IAT will never come out again as it's now a screw in sensor with a welded bung. Anyone want to buy a 6 speed turbo car?

Oh and this converter is stupid tight, about 2% slip at 143 mph but should work real well on 25 + Psi.

If our local track would ever stop getting rained out I want to see how hard I can get these drag radials to hook. I'm hoping I can get down in the 1.3-1.4 range fairly easily. I really want to get the car to launch hard before cranking up the boost. I think there is a 9.3-9.4 in it on 15lbs when I get the tune cleaned up and a working shift light.

I have a msd 2 step on the car but with it's retarded algorithm you can't foot brake the car into the 2nd beam and hit the 2 step. Basically you have to be 1/3 of the rpm below where you activate the 2 step. So if I had the 2 step set at 3000 rpm I would have to engage it below 2000 rpm for it to work.

I went 9.4 with the nova at 15lbs.
Foot brake off the two step 1.40 60ft.

I light the first bulb and push the gas hard enough to get it stuttering. Then bump in to the second bulb and floor it.
That's what works for me. By the time the last yellow comes on I'm at approx 7psi.
It will actually cut a light.

I've no doubt you will hit your goals.
Catch that orange car.....

My 400 seems to seep out of every possible spot, but can't even be compared to the old t56. It's magical.

Looks good! Best of luck on your goals I'm sure you'll have no issues.

Thanks I hope so, going to make some hits today but its looking like a 96 degree day. I can only get about 2000 rpm on the foot brake so there is no way it would build boost that low. Even on the tbrake it only goes to 2600 rpm but it will start to take off and I've seen it make over 10 lbs around 4000 rpm. I'm on a 3.90 pro gear so I really shouldn't need to launch on too much rpm to 60' hard. Seems like they only go down to a 3.40 pro gear and damn they are around $400. I wish I could run a 3.25 but I haven't seen a pro gear in that ratio and it seems with 40 splines axles thats all you can run.

Finally got to make some passes and play with the launch and suspension. I was really surprised as I kept upping the launch rpm and tightening the front shocks that the track actually held with these old style 275 MT drag radials. Now if only I could get this car to actually run cool. 3200 rpm 2 step 7.5 psi launch I'm pretty happy with that considering it basically a minimal prep for friday night street legal drags. Around 3800'+ density altitude.

How you manage 3500 on the two step, I thought you were hung up around 25-2800? Either way, nice work. Your car books!

Thanks guys. I put low viscosity john deere hygard in it and will come up to about 2600 rpm but it will start to make boost and slowly rise up. Before I had a mix of oreilys type f and 303 tractor fluid which was thick ****!

I also played with the tune a little bit. If I don't use the 2 step I saw 13 psi @ 4000 rpm before I let off the gas in 4 seconds. If I set the 2 step at say 3200 rpm it will build 10 psi depending how long I sit on the tbrake but it takes forever which isn't good.

I just went to an LSX dyno day and wanted to see what kind of a difference the air filter setup makes. I knew it was something I wanted to change but holy crap I couldn't believe the difference. I won a cool shirt for highest hp barely beating out my buddies ctsv that made 801/813. I wonder how fast it would have gone last night with no air filter? Time to upgrade the dual walbro 255's they seem to be maxed out, dropping fuel pressure bad.

proper plumbing length/size before the compressor will improve power over no filter/open compressor. You can install a pressure gauge in the air filter tube (0-32" of Hg for example) to see how much is left on the table, during a dyno run watch the pressure gauge with a camera video.

So I'm running the yella terra roller rockers and I think I might be getting valve float starting at 6300 rpm. I planned to swap in a set of stock rockers but what do you guys think does that dyno graph look like valve float or is it just auto turbo car things? It looks like I'm down 130 hp by 7000 rpm.

This is what I need to work on being a footbrake car as well. I can cut low 1.4's but have to stay on the 2step for a bit to get there.

Congrats on the pass. Auto turbo cars are a blast. What's that thing weigh? I have been 9.5 @ 147 on 15 lbs. in my car. I need to get mine on a scale again.

I just weighed it at the dump a few weeks ago and it was 3400 without me in it and I'm 190 lbs. I dont understand how it's so heavy I was hoping to be around 3200. Everything is tubular, burkhart manual steering kit and spindles , strange drag brakes up front, light carpet. I'm guessing the rear end is a tank compared to the mwc 9" in my other car. I wish I could swap but this Moser 9" is narrowed 3" per side and has 5/8 studs. My fab 9" has all the 4 channel options so everything works as factory. I still have all the stock cloth seats and I plan to throw a set of kirkeys in which should help.

What rpm are you at when crossing the traps with the 3.90's? I have have those too, but was worried it wouldn't be enough gear to get through the quarter.

6800-6900 but my converter only has 1.5-2% slip best I can tell. On the dyno i hit 150 mph @ 7200 rpm.

If I don't post up the info somewhere than I just forget what I have done or tried eventually and have to look up my old post. It's important to collect data and actually try and learn something from the information you are looking at. It's the only way to move forward. I've been on various forums for a long time now and there is a ton of information one can learn out there be it good or bad. It's kind of like finding that golden nugget, you have to sift through a lot of **** to get the gold!
