We disagree on a few things, but props for making the admission.

Yup, still running it. Car went 9.89 @139 a few weeks ago, leaving on about 5 inches of vacuum. Pretty decent for a $400 turbo I'd say, doesn't quite make the power of a GTS.... but its reliable. Goddd this thread was brutal, completely forgot about it.

damn. So the “piece of **** China turbo” is still going three years later? So I guess the nice fellas who tried beating you down about it and your results, should eat crow. I read this whole thread. And shook my head. Because I knew where you were coming from. And if they didn’t believe you got the results you did, so what. I’ve noticed some people will by the best of everything. They got it like that. Cool. Am I jealous? Yea, maybe a little bit. But me, I gotta cheap out a lot. Watch my pennies. Unfortunately I’m not well off, so dropping $1500-$2000 for a turbo really isn’t in my budget. It’s not that serious to me either. And let me just tell you, if I spent $1500 on a turbo that failed in short order and then I put a $400 turbo on that really wasn’t that far off....I’d be pissed about wasting $1500 and happy that I found a solution for $400. And ****, if I gotta buy a new $400 turbo every couple or three years, that beats spending $1500 all at once and it not lasting any longer. And the power difference just isn’t worth the $1100 difference in my opinion. People are gonna hate tho. That’s the nature of the internet.

and come to think of it, you can rebuild the on3 for like $200. Or even upgrade to the billet wheel while your at it. I’m just glad we have cheap options like this. If it weren’t for that, I still would be dreaming about having a turbo on my car. Because it’s simply out of my budget.

Yes, that was the main reason. I've gotten to where I don't like/and just don't have the energy to turn wrenches anymore. And along with that, couldn't justify the money to get the driveline where it needed to be. But, there's a forum member here that will be the new owner next week. And from what I'm hearing, it will be an 8 second car very soon!

Thinking about getting this, fixing the heads, and just use it as a driver (not daily)... and leave it stone stock. The go fast game is cool, but anymore, I just want something that looks good. Car will be slow, but not really bothered by it.

Why not have both? I gave my wife my sierra Denali so I could buy a regular cab short box 2wd Silverado. Did all the bolts ons, cam and nitrous. It’s “slow” (maybe bottom 12s.. possibly high 11s) but is a fun cool daily...

Then I have my 2000 Ws6 that’s gutted, caged, and turbo’d. Quick daily and somewhat fast race car. if I get sick of one I can play with the other for awhile till my interest in the other is sparked again.

haha exactly what I did, ditched the heavy sedan got one of those... and now on my third turbo setup and have about rebuilt the car front to back I can't leave anything alone.

When I was looking for a replacement I wanted something lighter and hardly any new cars are lightweight and even less are manual so ruled most everything out and I kept coming back to the Vettes.

Being poor like I am, I have to sell one toy to buy another. Can't just be out here buying multiple whips at will, aside from that, I don't have the room. Even at only 26-30k, I can't afford a Z06, '17 Maxima, mortgage, and everytime else
