Default Ls9 or ls6 cam for heavy pig that's boosted

Looking for some advice I know a few vendors I could buy a legit cam from but I'm just wanting to throw something together real fast on the inexpensive side as possible. turbo setup is in a Rcsb 2wd 4l80
I will change things up soon as I can and order from stock48 😬👌✊
So ls9 or ls6 be better, or another cam
Advice is greatly appreciated

I would strongly recommend you get an actual turbo spec'd cam from the start. Or just use the stock cam until you can get one.

LS9 is all top end. They are horrible for torque.

Ok I may just rock the stock cam for now. Just trying to get this going soon as possible before I have to move and tow the pig lol

Both cams will make more peak power than stock, but as Joe said it will kill torque.

the sad thing is it's heavy and I'm just needing this thing to drive but I also don't want to do this twice the motor is out and looking to get it running for the least amount of money. So if it takes more money away from buying my house then that's what I'll have to do to save time and money

Check this camshaft out man:

https://www.summitracing.com/parts/tfs-30602001

It appears to be a cheap and decent turbo cam option, especially for the 4.8 and 5.3 motors. I will be throwing one in my SBE gen3 grenade engine probably.

Tossed and LS9 cam in our Procharged TBSS. It dropped the DCR about 1/4 to 1/2 point vs the stock LS2 cam. Truck drives great in and out of boost.

But, that Trick Flow cam is a good affordable option.

Why wouldn't you just run your stock cam, until you can afford what you want. I doubt you are looking to break dyno records with your setup as it sits right now.

Get ahold of stock48 he is the master on what works well in heavy trucks. A ton of people run his Isky triple 12 cam for good reason.

I Didn't see in the OP where the engine size was specified, but if a 6.0 or 5.7 is used, the ls6 is a great BARGAIN cam for boost. On a 4.8 or 5.3 it might lose a little low end, but on the bigger motors it is a bang for the buck winner. Go back a few years and look at what people used for budget upgrades before the recent rash of decent valvesprings allowed the normalcy of what used to be called "donkey dick" cams. Don't take the advice of people who build 1/4 mile stripper cars when building a daily drive truck. The ls9 cam might be in the same boat, but I only have NA experience with it. Also remember that some people here don't quite understand the concept of a "budget" build.

I've bought a lot of stuff from Jarrett (stock48) and planned on buying a cam from him.
My old setup was a 370 th400 s475 on 22lbs 14* it was fast and fun not really a daily driver. So I went back to a stock 6.0 with gapped rings and a 4l80 all I need to do is slap a cam in it. I just wanted to chat about cams on hear some advice/opinions
Thanks guys

Seems like a really big cam looking at numbers. I'm 6300 ft above sea level and truck weighs about 4K but they are def priced right

I'd have to find a stock cam if I go that route 93

It is a 6.0 and great advice. I read up on a lot of things and yea budget friendly is different to everyone and we all have our own taste. From what I've seen there is two different ls6 cams

Tick was on here a while back & mentioned he makes High-altitude specific cams.

Not near as cheap as an off the shelf grind, but would probably be pretty well matched, so that's your call.
