1200hp engine build advice needed - LS3 or Iron block?
#41
I notice various core charges, just wondering that if you are replacing the liners etc...is there any difference starting with say an LS2, LS3 or the much cheaper "LS5.3" core you have listed ?
ie, does it really matter which core you start with ?
As I'm not in the US, outright purchase is the only option.
Also, can you add piston oil squirters to your blocks ?

For a 1,200HP+ build we prefer the 5.3 blocks, these do not have the bay to bay windows at the bottom of the cylinder walls. So there is a little more meat in the block but we can still use any other 4th gen aluminum block. After our machining there is not much difference between the blocks except for factory differences like the LSA blocks having provisions for oil squirters. Give me a call and we can discuss the best block for your application.

I've had zero issue with my LS2 block even at almost 30psi boost for standing 1km runs, but always interested in options for the future and your stuff does seem like a good job.
