Default NEWB ? best 5.3 stock long block to begin with

So I'm fairly new to the LS platform but not boosted motors(crew on an all out X275 turbo SBF car) other than twin 64s on a LQ motor with Z06 cam in our shop truck. Trying to gather parts for a budget SBE 5.3 build with a single 76mm. What should I look for to make fairly big power? By fairly big I mean 750+ rwhp. Plans are a 2005 up LM7 bottom end and LJMS Cam or Tick Cam but will 706 heads support the power or should I swap for 243/799s? I have seen some guys running 317s and making 1,000+ just haven't been around enough boosted LS combos to know how well the stock long block will do cam only. Lets hear your experiences! Thanks Guys!

From what I've read, '05-'07 because of the connecting rods.

search on here and the truck performance forums. Plenty of turbo setup on the 5.3/4.8 to have you reading for a while.

I wouldnt go with 317 i think it drops the compression lower than necessary. on my old car ive ran up to 20 psi on stock HG. 91/meth
I used the stock heads, if i were to do it again i would go 799/243(in fact my current project is getting this combo.)

I would spend the money now. just remember more power n/a = less boost needed to make same power. but if you dont mind cranking up the boost or using a larger turbo then by all means use stock. but for few hundred I dont see much savings.

I'd go with an L33.

Aluminum block, good rods, good heads.

Thanks guys, Yeah I'm tempted to just do the iron block and 243/799. My only fear of the L33 is block strength. I come from the SBF world where a stock 5.0 block literally splits in half at 550rwhp so just leery of the block being my weak link. However it is all in Fuel system and tuneup to make the power reliably.

Most companies like Texas speed and Thompson use L33 blocks for all their big cube aluminum long/short blocks...I have an L33 and it makes decent power even off boost with a factory corvette cam
