I hear ya. Even in my Podunk town you need to have 60k worth of car to be competitive in 275 classes. And that’s if you spent your money well. I see guys with 100-200k+ worth of car at our 275 races. Grudge racing is almost worse these days. In turbo limited classes there’s no such thing as going fast cheap… You need to have a serious motor because of the turbo restrictions. A competitive Ultra Street/Ultimate Street class legal turbo is almost $4k. 4-5x that in the motors easy.

Yeah i'm prob not gonna be able to find a class to race in that i can keep up. Maybe I should just scrap the idea. It just isn't as fun when all you can do is test n tune.

Ideally I would love to find a class that the top guys run mid 5s lol. There used to be a couple of local classes like that but they have fallen by the wayside, as car counts weren't good.

That’s what I do… no rules in TNT! Nice set of twins or a big single and let it eat. Sometimes the track has random classes for the evening. I won the quickest car driven to the track a few times… Also there was a top 10 “list” for cars driven to the track that was fun. A lot of times it just takes someone willing to organize it. You could set up your own class/list for factory long block street cars driven to track or something.

Good point. My local track may be open to someone organizing a class.

Here is my build and the short block is for sale

4.8 iron block, gen 4 floating rods, stock crank, wiseco forged -11 pistons.

Out to hold up well at 900 HP.

To meet your goals I'd consider better rods and a forged crank.

I have a 4.0 forged crank and lunati rods (needs pistons) and another block if you want to do a build. My stuff is on hold (lost job)..
