Default turbo truck -AN fuel lines

Ok guys I could use some knowledge
I will be starting my '05 sierra rcsb turbo build here soon. This weekend i'll be picking up a slightly used on3 kit and 4l80e. My plans are to be a daily driver truck 450-500 rwhp on flex fuel and on occasionally turn boost up and shoot for 700+ rwhp. The '05 year gm trucks are returnless fuel but i have a return style intake and fuel rails and plan to run return style. What size feed and return lines should i run? The return fuel rail have a 5/8"nut and a 3/8" ID line, if that matters. And what are the -4 -6 -8 etc lines in standard sizes.

found this russell -6an to 3/8 sea fuel line adaptor, this is whats on the fuel rails.

Use -6 for return and -8 feed should be plenty. Those adapters work great for connecting to stock rails.

I'd use -8/-10 ptfe, if you ever want to up the power you'll be covered. I've rebuilt my fuel system 4 times over the years because of changing needs. Learn from my mistakes! Lol

Stock size lines are good to well into the 600s ask Denman he made even more than that on them I used 3/8 tubing for the return and used 6 for the feed and haven't had issues into the low 700s

been on amazon and summit sites, finding the hoses and fittings i would need. I plan on adding the flex fuel sensor and have read around its best to put it on the return line. Agree??

Anyone know where I could get a return system style fuel pump carrier or hat. Just the outer shell. I got a walbro 450 pump coming, that should handle 700rwhp+ on e85/pump gas/mixture right? or am i gonna need a second pump?

u should be able to take your returnless fuel pump assemblie and drill a bulkhead into it for the return line. Use a external 1.1 regulator and use your stock rails if u wish. Install the flex fuel sensor on the return side. A 450 pump will be pretty close at 700+ on e85. Some have done more tho. Depends on a lot of different variables.

Don't use summit ptfe fittings! There total garbage! The ferrule are almost impossible to get on. Get fragolia at a minimum

Thanks for the advice LMT, but whats the difference between ptfe lines and fittings versus non-ptfe? Maybe E85 compatible? Wont breakdown in the ethanol? Can you use non ptfe fittings with ptfe lines and via versa?

usually you can. different fitting manufacturers use different size hoses. the ptfe inner hoses are thinner wall thickness that the "rubber" hose, so the outer braid is thicker to make up for it..or so it seems from my experience

the best $ vs quality I have found is fragola fittings and "pro's lite" ptfe hose. I get it from performance dynamics. i'd link them but they are not a sponsor.

thanks for the intel everyone much appreciated. I got all the -8an line and fittings for the feed line and -6an for the return. i also have the fittings and bulkhead to drain back into the tank.

the only question I have left is the fuel pressure regulator. the early 2000s return style fuel rail i have sitting in the garage has a regulator built in, so can i go the cheaper way and stick with it instead of dropping more limited funds and getting a performance reg? whats your thoughts

yes u can get by with using the stock regulator. But with more boost and hp u will eventually need a 1:1 regulator. Might as well get it now and be done with it.

damn that's impressive! Nice work. So second guessing the 8an feed and 6an return, I'll just get a stock return line and save some money and just fabulous something together to fit in the ethanol content sensor.
