Depends on how low you want to keep the boost. If you want to go below 10psi and hold it there to 6500 rpm, then the HKS racegate would be my choice. If you are going to stay above say 15psi as a target, then any quality gate will work. We use the Tial brand with great results.

right now i have a turbonetics evolution. it apears to be about 35mm. with my cut out closed the lowest i can go is 16psi and with it open i see 22psi minimum. 22psi is too high. if i could get control down to 15psi that would probably be ok.

i see some wg's have vband clamps. is that worth extra money? everything else i have is vband and it sure is nice not having any gaskets and it seems like it would be nice on the wg too.

HKS GT should get you to around 8#, let the boost controller take it from there..

i have a speed based electronic boost controler. it would be nice to be able to turn it down low if i wanted to. 15psi might be too high for a smooth launch, i just dont know for sure since i haven't tried any sticky tires. with the cut out closed and 16psi(and stock heads) i can rip all 4 loose for 100' or so. maybe i should just drop the cash on the killer gate and have ultimate control.

A single 32mm wastegate on your setup? YIKES! Definitely step up to something bigger on that damn thing.

Instead of a single HKS GT gate, how about a pair of tial 44mm gates? The price is less than one GT gate, you have more combined area for the exhaust gas to pass out of, and on a single turbo V-motor configuration they hold boost very nicely running one off of each collector. On top of that, it can be hard to try and find a spot for that huge HKS gate in some engine bays.

i had two gates and once i got it tuned right it allowed too much out and it wouldnt hold boost past like 5psi. i would just got one wg, the hks stuff is nice but pricey, but if i had your set up i would get something in the 60mm range. i think thats what MM uses and i know the ohio boys use a single big WG. i think it might be the hks racegate or something similar

Go with a 51mm ITS Indygate.

The 48mm progate is made by ITS also.

DAMN that is tiny, especially with your setup!
Seems most of the "big boost" folks are running the HKS GT or Race series 60mm models. I hear you on the cost tho...

i was looking at the newgen. cmotorsports is a turbonetics dealer so they could probably get me a good price on it and it is cheaper to start with. it also has the vband clamps and a 2" valve.

edit.. whoa, 558 for the newgen at jegs and they show the vband clamps in the pic.

The turbosmart Progate is by far the best bang for the buck.

ok, i am going with the newgen. soo many diferent recomendations it seems that it doesn't matter too much. the swing valve on the newgen looks cool to me so i picked that one.

thanks, i will report my minimum boost setting when i get it instaled. like i said before, with my cut out open the lowest i can go is 22psi now.

decided to go all out and get the racegate.

old waste gate was a turbonetics evolution, new waste gate will be a hks race gate. should be interesting.
