Default F.I. VS. Compression Ratio Question

My motor has a compression ratio of around 11.2:1. Is there anyway I can run boost, even a small amount, with my current setup or will I need to go with a lower compression.

I understand that ideally I should start with a 9.5:1 or so compression ratio, but I'm just wondering what I could do F.I.-wise, if anything, with the way things are. Could I, for instance, run 4 lbs. of boost with the proper tuning or is that totally out of the question?

Thanks!

You can run all kinds of boost. It just depends on what type of gas you want to drive around with.

If you only intend on using pump gas, then I would try and steer you away from any kind of boost.

If you intend to mix or run race gas, then how much boost you run depends on your octane.

you can probably run 5 lbs on pump gas and you'll have to retard your timing down to like 12-14 degrees.

I would agree with GotmeSOM,
You can easily run 5lbs with good tuning and the right timing somewhere around 14-15* but you could run even more with meth injection as it makes your effective octane somewhere around 115 and that would easily support over 8lbs of boost I would think with a good tune.

Thanks, Ed!

As it turns out, the original calculator I used to determine my compression ratio apparently wasn't very accurate. It now appears that my c.r. is actually ~10.8:1 though I'm not sure that makes one hell of a lot of difference, if any.
