Default Stainless braided power steering lines

On the Stainless Works (ex-Q MP) and TTi style turbo kits, the power steering lines need to be altered to fit around the turbocharger. I've been asked a few times how to make up these lines, so I figured I'd post it here for "safe keeping"

Here's the list of parts needed to make up your own stainless braided power steering lines with standard AN fittings. I used parts from Summit, but you can get them from many sources.

2 x EAR-991955ERL (M16x1.50 o-ring to -6AN Male) - rack return, pressure side of pump
1 x EAR-991956ERL (M18x1.50 o-ring to -6AN Male) - pressure side of rack
3 x RUS-620421 (90 degree -6 hose ends) - Both rack ports, pressure side of pump hose ends
1 x RUS-620401 (Straight -6 hose end) - Hose to pump reservoir, along with
RUS-670300 (Straight -6 to hose barb) - Braided line to rubber hose, which clamps to reservoir fitting
1 x RUS-632610 (6 foot section of power steering hose)

Make sure you get the right grade fittings and hose, it has to handle the roughly 1000psi of the power steering pump. The six feet of line I ordered was plenty to route all the lines comfortably.

Incon people might need this too since a lot of the original power steering lines may not be available with the used kits that are out there.

Great Info!

This was great information. Thanks for posting 10 years ago!

For posterities sake, the Russell Performance fittings require a different installation/assembly method than standard AN fittings. I wasted a few hours re-doing them until I decided I must be doing something, and hit the Internet. Since the Russell components listed above are Proflex, you have to follow the Proflex directions here.

That's standard install for any teflon type hose/fittings

I very recently converted all the PS lines to AN on my Vette'. Cost a lot more than $108 bucks though. Added a cooler and made the billet tank myself. Came out nice. All Teflon braided hose and all steel Teflon fittings. Teflon AN fittings cost twice that of regular AN fittings.
