Default Phamspeed turbo leak

I put the car onthe dyno today for the first time hoping to make a pull. its smoking bad out of the pipe, there is oil backing up in the turbo with not enough pressure back into the pan. I cant get a steep enough slope on that hose. Anyone know where I can get a pump to pull the oil out of turbo and back into the pan? Or anything else I can do? And is this cause any damage to the turbo? Thanks for any help.

Where did you tap the oil pan for the return? And how large of a line is your return? I am having basically the same problem with my TTi setup. Oil is getting to the turbo fine, I just can't get it back into the pan fast enough when the engine is at WOT. So I'll probably be buying one of these pumps as well.

A lot of us had that problem. I piece together a 1/2 pipe setup from Home Depot. Half of my return line is now 1/2 hard pipe and the rest is the rubber hose that came with my kit.

The best way to describe the way it looks is to say it looks like a huge bowl you would smoke a fat bud in.

The way its setup now is a 90 degree 1/2 hard pipe coming off the turbo then about 3" of 1/2 hard pipe with a nipple at the end of it for the rubber line to slip over it. The the rubber line dumps into the side of the pan. After I did that I have no oil smoke. Frcefed98 did the same thing.

What does your crank case ventilation look like? Too much crank case pressure will cause the same thing... LS1's love boost, but thier rings DO NOT.

purevil: where can i find a pump? I raised the turbo slightly but is not enough.
Hellraiser: after the elbow, that 3'' pipe what angle is it running, is it going to have a steep enough slope?
forcefed: how did u put restriction on the feed side?

? why is this a problem on the cars.. My trucks drain back line is 3/8 hardline and run pretty flat, I mean a little down hill but nothing extreme.. The only time I have ever seen smoke, is after letting idle for about an hour or so.. Even then I think the oil just came from a loose fitting..

Ok gotcha the drain fitting is really close the top oil line in the pan...
Thanks

That pump is for oil return, not oil supply...

Theres not much angle at all. Just a C-hair. Its just the 1/2 pipe has a much larger ID then the rubber line they send with the kit.

As for restricting the oil feed we use one of these http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...72&prmenbr=361. All you have to do is cut the brass fitting (flare end, where the oil feed line goes on) that goes into the top of the turbo. Then you can slide the piece in and put the hose back on. I think I am using a .093 jet

I know is the return line, I meant oil supply coming from the turbo. I was told that if the pump doesnt have a constant supply it will fail much like a fuel pump with no gas in the tank. The pu,p I found suppose to work even if theres a vacuum in the line.
