Default max psi to run...

What is the max psi I can run safely without spraying meth?? I have a 402 iron block, sts with a t-70, and a intercooler. Does 10 or 11psi sound about right??

Spill your entire engine's combo to make it easy for people to answer you.

CR?
Camshaft?
Forged or cast pistons/rods?

I know the motor can handle 16psi but can it do it without useing meth/alky?

I know a local guy who is running 16# intercooled on a built 346 LS1 with T-88 on 93 octane with no issues but his ride weighs around 2400Ib and sees less traction on sand drags. It has 8.5CR with custom turbo cam and stock heads.

It could be different when you have different load because of more weight and more traction.

just turn it up, and log for a while. make sure the fuel pressure stays constant, and ur not gettin any DET or KR.....i think u should be more that fine really. id be more worried about the fuel system than the engine component strength.

I'm sure you can run 10-11 psi without meth, assuming your combo is relatively efficient (ie. your intercooler is not the size of a lunch box).

I've been reading meth threads off and on for a few years, and it seems like meth is acts like straight 104 unleaded/110 leaded... I would not push it farther than that.

You may need 76GTS or T-88 to get to 16# boost with 402 engine. Check with some of the sponsors.

Has anyone done an 88 with an STS? I don't know if anyone has done a 76 either, all I usually see are 67s and 70s
