Unhappy 42.5# injectors and P1SC with 8-rib

I was told that I can't run really any type of moderate blower cam (SC1 or GT2-3) in my friends car without upgrading to 60# injectors. This sucks....we just put those injectors in 4 months ago. I hate to see him drop another $400+ on new injectors. Anybody runnin' these cams on 42's or is it just wishful thinking?

I tried to get away by running the 42lbs with 8psi and a cam on my car and the car went lean after 6000RPM which was around 530rwhp or so running 62psi of FP. We had to upgrade to 60lbs injectors to get away with 550rwhp. Now with 580rwhp on a mustang dyno the car needs an upgraded fuel system(Rails, another pump, FRP, return, etc...)

It is borderline. With adequate fuel pressure you might squeeze by without maxing out the injectors. Bob

Bob,

After my friend Bill called ya today...your words of wisdom told us to wait on the cam until we can get the fuel to it. I guess he also talked to you about boost being alittle on the low side. We'll trim off the 3/8in. and locktight the **** out of it and make sure the belt is good and tight to see if it makes an improvement. Thank you guys for all your help

Thanks for the info. I think we'll still go for the 60's because he's now talkin' roll cage and more future upgrades. I can see crank and rods in his future I think we may look at a new driveshaft with 1350's and DS Loop. Safety first

You can go with 50 lber's from RC Engineering, might cost ya less than the 60's and allows you some room to grow.
