Default Few ?'s about the LS1

I've searched the forums and haven't found anything definitive, so here are a few questions:

-How much whp can the stock fuel system safely produce?
-How much boost can a stock block handle?
-Where can I look at some good turbo kits?
-Basically, what's the most power that could safely be made on a turbo'd stock block?

Thanks guys!

I dont think the Fuel system can produce a whole lot.. BUt I think it can handle around 500rwhp... But thats pushing it... maybe somewhere like 450rwhp..

I dont think anybody has found the limit of the stock block as far as PSI... but hp... round 1500hp..

As for turbo kits... try the search feature..

FOr stock internals.... boosted... it varies.. depends on how good of a tune you have... but 600rwhp+ has been done

-Basically, what's the most power that could safely be made on a turbo'd stock block? 500 rwhp...SAFELY

you would probably be looking for how much the bottom end can take before you have to get forged, not how much the block will take. 500rwhp is probably the most, safely, some have taken it all the way to about 650rwhp but that is extremely risky

I was thinking more like 6PSI being the upper limit of safety w/out some kind of intercooler or methanol injection on a stock engine. My friend ran 9PSI on his STS kit....and the meth was not functioning properly. Car was running lean due the the fuel pump too. Ended out separating two of the block sleeves and oiling down the local track. Impressive damage to say the least. Funny part is he still ran a 12.03

Now I have his turbo and he has a 408. I learned from him and stick with 5PSI

I meant stock longblock as in how much can it take without pulling the engine apart, sry if my terminology was wrong :-X. But thanks for the replies guys it's been helpful!

by stock fuel system, are you asking about the system as a whole or for example the fuel rails/pump/injectors or lines?

why not learn from him and get a fmic

i agree with everyones answers. good kits; tti, ptk, gmr, groundzero maybe hiflow soon. They are out there. research a few first and figure out how much power you want to make
