Default MAP Sensor Location

Anyone know where the MAP sensor is located on an 02 Camaro ss vert? I'm trying to replace the Stock MAP with a 2bar but I can't find it.

Thanks. How do you get to it. Please don't say I have to pull the intake!

You don't have to pull the intake, but it's a lot easier to mess with if you do. It just plugs in to the back of the intake, so it's easy to do.

The stock map only reads up to 0 kpa. So when you are in boost mode (above 0 kpa) you will start to run lean. With a 2bar map, and a correct tune, you can add fuel in the boosted areas to improve performance.

Dude, do a little research first, I think the 98 pcm is not capable of accepting a 2 bar tune. There are other ways to "trick" the pcm, so this is not a completely necessary mod for you. I ran 8 psi on the stock map sensor. If you find that you can run a 2 bar, then it is definitely worth it to have an ideal setup.

HPT is finally releasing a 2 bar OS for the 98's. Its in beta testing, but not to sure when its going to be released for public use.

And a 2 bar MAP is available from gmcarpartsdirect-dot-com, run a search here or in the PCM section for the PN.
