Default D1SC What stall speed are you guys running?

I just ran my car last night at the track with my stock stall to see what I could do...Well I was very disappointed in my time slips...I couldnt even get my boost kickin until after the 60ft mark. I was just wondering what stall speed and STR that you guys are running.

Also if you guys would include if you are still running your stock rear end or aftermarket...

I tryed to do a search on this, but couldn't realy find too much info. I was told that because its forced induction, you dont need too much stall, around a 3000-3500 stall. If you plan on seeing the track prety often, some would suggest a 4000-4500 stall or so. I personaly just called up ATI Performance Products and talked to them, told them about how much power the car will have, what my goals for it are, and they set me up with a 9" converter that will stall at around 3800rpm's. Still waiting for it to arrive, so I can't realy tell you my impressions on it yet.

Did you try powerbraking it at all? You should be able to get boost before the 60ft mark with a stock converter. I'd shoot for a 3000 stall converter. The 10 bolt rear may hang in there for a while seeing as you have an automatic. 3:73 gears would help as well. Bob

I was able to power brake up to around 1100-1200, but I would not spin so it would kindof bog. Plus I was gettin my 8-9 psi at the top of my RPM band, but with each shift I would lose back down to 3-4 psi and then it would have to build back up instead of being able to keep the boost due to the loss in RPM.

I just recieved an email from Fuddle and he recommended a 3000 2.0 STR. I mentioned to him that I wanted something with alot of good street qualities along with strip and he said this would do it, even along with the stock 3:23.

What do you think if this set-up does that sound like enough stall speed?

It looks like Yank shows a SC3000 with a 2.2 or 2.4 STR with my 3:23 also. So 3000 may be a good choice then...

I have a fuddle 3000/ 2.0. It really woke the car up off the line. I'm running the P1SC1 @ 7lbs and have a 3.73 in the 10 bolt. My times before the converter was 12.6 @ 113mph. Haven't been to the track yet but it did make a noticable difference. I think it takes off better flashing it instead of power braking.
