Why are alot of people running a smaller exaust lobe?

Default Why are alot of people running a smaller exaust lobe?

Im new to the whole boostw orld, and im wondering why i see cam specs with a smaller exaust lobe alot. Im used to N/A and the bigger exaust lobe. If someone can explain it a lil that would be great.

reasons first is you don;t want to bleed off your boost too much because you will lose power and too big of a exhaust duration will cause you to have too much backpressure between the motor and the turbo

This sounds like it may be alot more complicated then i thought it would be! I shoulda known, anything with cams makes my head spin.
