Boost gauge line ?

Boost gauge line ? What size line do you guys run to the boost gauge? The cheap plastic tubing that came with it is already bent and I don't want to put that in there. The smallest barb fitting I can find is a 1/4" barb that will fit on the back of the gauge. Would it be alright to run this large (1/4") vaccum line from the gauge to the engine or should I step it down to 1/8" line right after the gauge? Any way about it, it seems I am stuck with at least starting the line with a 1/4" since that is the smallest barb I can find. I already have both 1/4" line and 7/64" line that I can use.

arg. metric. Well, that's about 1/"8 for most but you use about a 1/4" OK, I think I'll use the 1/4" hose to keep things simple and have less connections. Thanks.
