Cog belt system for procharger ?
I have seen numerous cog belt set ups for smallblock chevy , but I've not seen anything for LSX. Is it available or is this gonna have to be a custom deal?

Thanks for the input guys, I was researching the possibility of changing my power adder from N20 to forced induction. I thought it might be neat to go to a super charger instead of the turbo route that everybody takes. The car is a dedicated strip car so it could be geared and stalled appropriatly(sp?) for whatever set up.

Actually, there is another kit. But, its from Australia. but they have cars (including the drift UTE) making over 1000RWHP with a cogged belt setup. Dead nuts reliable.

If you look at that system, its not a true cog belt system in that its being driven off the serpentine belt. Its probably just as bad as the stock ATI unit, if not worse. Thats why they aren't tearing up cog belts, because the serpentine belt is taking the abuse instead. Also I believe thats a vortech system, not for an ATI.

You are correct, it is a Vortech kit, and you are correct it is driven off the serpentine system. But, the key issues most have is with belt alignment, and belt wrap (or contact area). You can see from that kit, this isn't an issue. So, even when load is high, you aren't going to have the issues many folks have with trying to run the small pulleys with the stock or even 8 rib system. I'm not saying those don't have a place, just pointing out options.

FWIW-
My buddies shop had a cu$tom cog setup built for this guy. Setup was a 408, d1 maxxed out, crazy fuel system, the whole nine yards. They paid an arm and a leg to have a custom one-off system made with billet pulleys. It did the trick though. Car was a blast to drive. Had a Liberty t56 also- pro shifted.
Sorry- dont know too many details on the setup. I can try and find out for you though.

But even some high dollar custom made bracket and cog setups will still sling off 100.00 belts with amazing regularity
I should find out tomorrow if I can max out my F1 with the SDCE kit.
