Default problem with supercharger crank pulley

hey guys i have a 99 z28 with a ati procharger on it. the unit is the p1sc. the problem i am having is that the crany pulley is comming loose from the little added pulley to spin the supercharger. this is the second time this has happened. i have heard somewhere that someone makes a new one peice pullet to replace the crank pulley and the supercharger pulley. does anyone know where i can get it or have any other suggestions on how to secure the supercharger pulley better to the crank pulley? I have heard this is a reacurring problem. thanks for the help

I was having the same issue with my D1SC. The long crank bolts they send you may be a little too long, so you may want to cut one thread off, then try that. Worked for me.

I suggest cutting .38" off the crank bolt, and use red loctite on the bolt when you reassemble it. Bob

Thanks Bob, i had the same problem today, the crank pulley actually came off the crank by about an 8th of an inch and just destroyed all my belts. Took that bolt out and trimmed it, and supplied it with a sh*t load of red loctite. Seems to be working perfectly, again THANKS

You're welcome! It should be in the instructions to use red loctite on the crank bolt, and to verify the crank pulley does not bottom out. A slightly shorter crank bolt really should be supplied along with a small tube of loctite. Bob

thanks for all the help guys, its weird the first time this happened to me, it seemed like the crank pulley itself was still tight, but the second pulley attached to the crank pulley that spins the supercharger came loose. maybe im wrong but thats what i thought happened. i will have to check to see if just the crank pulley is loose or the supercharger pulley is loose on the crank pulley, has anyone expierenced this problem before or is it always the crank pulley that comes loose? thanks for the help

i torqued the bolt just like the procharger manual said, 40 lbs, then 1/3 turn after that. would putting washers on the bolt work the same as cutting it. would .38 worth of washers work just as well? thanks for the help

I know it says 40#'s in the procharger book but I know they do the ati dampers to 220 or something so i cant see 40#s being enough I cranked the hell out of mine and with the red loctite havent seen a problem since. I think I would cut the bolt instead of using washers though but i didnt have to with mine.

yeah i thought that 40 lbs wasnt that much either for the crank pulley, i know after 40 lbs i still had to go another 1/3 turn but that still couldnt have been that much extra.
