Default Which Cam

Newbie to the site but not to the f-bodies, but my question is on a stock lq9 with a bbk 80 mm intake/tb combo, which would be a better cam for a supercharger. I have a tsp ms3 237 242 603 609 on a 113 but was wondering if the guy i bought the motor from cam would be better it's a 230 238 595 601 on a 115 any help would be greatly appreciated oh and would the comp 918's be good on the 601 lift i definitely don't wanna chance anything my car (99 camaro z28 M6) is my only means of transportation.

With that high of compression, I would honestly go for the 230/238 @ .050 on a 115. You'll be better off building boost with less overlap, but you would need to calculate the complete valve timings to accurately guess which will work best. Either cam would work fine I'm sure, but on a stocker, how comfortable are you to reving it up and how much boost are you going to run? Don't use the comp 918's, especially with boost... I sold mine, get the Gold spring kit from TRT (Might still be on sale) that are good for .650 lift. The 918's are rated at .600, but with a shim can do just over that, and you don't want to run into valve float, especially with boost blowing the valves open.

preciate the advice i'm not gonna run more than 8 psi on the stock motor just enough to have fun around my home town in which the fastest car is a mustang gt with 10 psi out of a saleen supercharger. this is all in the works anyway because i'm wanting to upgrade my fuel system and rear before i start to get real hard into anything.

I just installed an Incon twin turbo on my '02 at only 5psi.

The N/A cam that made 421 rwhp a few months ago is still in the car. Lunati 236/236/ .580 -112LSA with -0- advance ground in. I'm using Comp 918's

Just got the car dialed in using a wide-band and hp tuners over a couple days street tuning. The car is friggin' insane right now... I can only imagine when I bump the boost up to 7 psi and re-tune.

That should last for a year until I tear the stock motor apart and change to a different cam/heads/forged low compresion assembly at that point.~Joshua
