Fast 90/90 LEAKAGE???
So I bought a fast 90/NW TB for my H/C set-up but am now going turbo.
I have just been informed by a member that they leak under boost? IS THIS TRUE? My mechanic will have no problem rigging up the map sensor if that is the only issue. I only plan on 8psi (for now)
I also have new gaskets for it.
Should I sell it and stick with my LS6im and stock TB????? Poop. I really want to run the 90/90.
Thanks for your help.

Well, I could see how leakage would be a problem with the FAST90 style manifold. You have a tiny serpentine gasket sealing the (2) halves together with only a few small bolts holding the halves together and creating the positive seal.
If it's possible to lift a head under high boost - the FAST90 intake has no chance of ever sealing...
You could always go with the aluminum version that utilizes the bigger inlet - but then you must deal with the heat soak problems.

Ok, I was originally going to go heads and cam...but now I think....for a few dollars more (like a grand or two) I could have ALOT more power...and more fun....etcetc
This is not the DD btw so saving is not a problem...
Anyway, I am selling my heads and my cam and all that and I was thinking about a FM turbo system...shoudl I keep my 90/90?
Thanks

I was told by speed inc that the fast 90 intake does have a problem with leaking sometimes. They told me to take it apart and put silicone around the entire edge where they connect. I did it and have no problems so far, but I havn't tried any boost yet.

I am pretty sure several supercharged people are running the fast 90/90 stuff .And also seen them on one car on the boosted list lingenfelter SS said 800 hp or something.I could maybe seem sealing problems at maybe super high boost levels but would think it would be fine at 15psi or so.I bought a fast 90 and then read about them not maybe being the best idea but had my ls6 already sold so guess going to run my fast anyway and see how it goes.
But likely won't know till next year as car will not be up and running this year I don't think.
I liked the direct nitrous option. Nitrous and turbos work well together.
I would also think some rtv in the fast might be a good idea.

My fast 90/NW90 isn't leaking at 10#boost, and it didn't leak on the accidental 15# spike, either. Unfortunately, I believe it may have been mostly an appearance mod, because my fastest 1/4 trap speed of 130 was with the ls6 stock gto manifold. Even though the 130 was in better weather, I haven't gone over 126mph this summer since the 90/90. Too bad I didn't get to compare them in the same weather.
