Default Help Please!

I was working on my car today and i seen the belt had a mark in the center so i check the pulleys and the tensioner pulley for my 6 rib setup is worn away and is now cutting the belt. Where can i get a new pulley? Also wiht the 6 rib kit could i get away with 8-9lbs of boost? Will i have bad slippage? I want to do the 8 rib upgrade but i dont have near enough money to do it. If the stock 6 rib crank pulley is 5.82 and if i get a 3.10" pulley for the procharger will i make 8 psi with long tubes? Any help on this subject would be great. Also where can i get a new belt for it? Anyone have these parts laying around? Let me know asap please

You need to call Bob @ Exotic Performance Plus tomorrow morning. ==>

He's a sponsor and the resident Procharger guru. He can give you advice and he can get you the belt/parts for a fair $ amount. ~Joshua

I used to run a reichard racing 3.2" pulley and thats about as small as I would go on the 6 rib. The RR 'ultragrip' pulleys work very well but you have to keep on the tension. I made ~8psi with FLP headers and cats and a stock engine and P1SC.

Bob can hook you up with a new idler pulley, thats a normal thing to happen, he can also get you a regular 3.2 pulley from ATI - may work OK for you if you dont want to spend the 200 on the ultragrip.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it!

The MMS crank pulley is probably the best way to go for the six rib, to add more boost. Here is a link to one that was for sale some time ago.

If you place a post in the wanted section, you can probably come up with one. I went from 7 psi to 14 psi of boost with this crank pulley, with a 4.00" pulley on the blower. This will give you much better belt wrap which will reduce belt slippage. Bob

The SDCE 6 rib will max out the P1 no problem and you wont have to buy any more idler pulleys ar crank the belt tension up every two weeks.

The MMS will work OK but you still will go through idler pulleys.

make sure and pin the crank no matter what you do.

SO i can run my 9psi with no slip issues? Can i use my stock balancer and bottom pulley? Im planning to get the pinning kit at same time. Just new to this yet and still figuring what im gonna need. I just had the car dynoed like 3 days ago iwth the pulley like that and the belt is sloppy how much boost do u think is lost? I still dynoed at 411/382.

Dont know what kind of trans you have but with stock exhaust around 450-475 is normal with a M6 and stock exhaust depending on the tune and pulley size of course. Belt has to be like piano string not to slip.

I'm not real familair wit the 6 rib SDCE, I imagine its cheaper then the 8 rib because it uses the stock procharger crank pulley. I dont see getting 9-10psi being a problem at all with the SDCE 6 rib, I got nearly that much with the stock tensioner and the RR 3.2 pulley. Another added benefit of the SDCE is it will really cut down the blower rattle at idle.

i have an m6 car. I have manifolds rite now but i want to get headers very soon. I want to get this pulley situation straightened first. I really like that blower rattle.

rattle and whine are two different things, I like the whine but not the part that sounds like shaking a bunch of rocks in a cofee can

It will take a little playing with but you should get close to 500rwhp with headers, good tune and 8-9psi. Always a good idea to stock some LS6 valvesprings on the heads for a little insurance.

SDCE can be a little slow sometimes, if you are in a huge hurry you may want to look at other alternatives but their stuff does work.
