Smile New Track Times for my Twin 67's; 9.16 at 146.197

Finally got some good weather - at least for up here. Track was great both Saturday and Sunday, well prep, weather similar on both days.

Saturday was a loss as I had some serious traction issues. Every pass, 1 to 2 shift would cause the SS kick the rear end out and had to fight the car the entire pass. This got really sick'n. Total of 6 passes on Saturday. Best of 9.62, with a best of 1.41 60'.

Sunday. We decided to change back to my old Hoosiers - 30x10.5x15R vice my new M/T 29.5x10.5x15S.

1st pass on Sunday: (Same set-up as Saturday except the tires)

60': 1.397
1/8: 5.926 at 117.568 (my 1st 5 second 1/8)
1/4: 9.266 at 145.724 (new best)

2nd pass on Sunday: (Increase 2-step to 3900)

60': 1.336
1/8: 5.840 at 118.283
1/4: 9.166 at 146.197

3rd pass on Sunday:

Found the limit of the tires out the hole on boost - set 2-step to 4100 and it blew the tires off. Oh well.

OH BY THE WAY - THIS WAS ON 8LBS OF BOOST We are getting close to our goal of 8 second pass on 8lbs of boost. Next race in 2 weeks.

Big thanks to Joey (my sponsor/builder/tuner) and Ryan (best damn helper/pit crew).

Here's the time slip

David

Excessive AutoSports - Joey's shop - no one help us on motor build except W2W with the cam and LS1Tech in general. Read every post I could get my hands on turbo builds. Joey was the final say. Great build - you think .

Any plans of turning up the wick after you hit your 8lb goals?

Congrats on the mean setup, 8's are right around the corner! What does that thing dyno on only 8 psi of boost? And where is our video??? These types of runs aren't allowed without video for everyone to enjoy!!!

I tell ya. I couldn't believe the difference. After fighting with the SS for the last 3 weekends, to finally get a glass smooth run was great. The 1.33 60' carried the tires for 40-50' about 4-6" off the ground. Felt absolutely great !!!!

I agree, every car will work differently with the same tire - in general.

Unfortunately, my son has my video camara in Japan. Maybe for Labor day.

Never have really dyno'd the SS on 8lbs. A guess would be 650-700rwhp. The twins really spool up fast - by 4700rpms I'm at full boost. 14lbs = 850rwhp from 4700 to red line.

Last couple months I couldnt get mine to hook at all, tried a new set of 10,5x28S M/Ts plus a little suspension tweaking and now its hooking great again (1.317 off the footbrake). Unfortunately I was having some nasty high rpm missfire problems, if its not on one end of the track its the other lol.

Congrats Dave, you're creepin' up on an 8 second pass.

How is track prep in general at your track?
