Default Oil line restrictor poll - guys chime in

OK, I am still fighting some smoking on my setup and I think this would be good info to have for members to see what has worked and what has not.

I also want a discaimer that if you use a restrictor you run the risk of bearing failure. Per Forced Inductions it is not recommended to go below .035" restrictor. Personally, I would not go below .075".

What I would like is:

1) what turbo do you have (brand, model)
2) are you using a restrictor in the oil feed line?
3) what size restrictor?
4) what oil pressure does your engine see near redline?
5) has the restrictor cured your smoking issues?
6) lastly, if you have used a restrictor in the past and it cause problems please post up some details
7) what size oil feed line do you use?

I wouldn't go smaller than a .062 but thats me.

1) GT42, MP T70 and now TC76MPS
2)Yes
3).109, going smaller when I get my new turbo. The .109 worked great for me but I want to step it down to a .070 and see how that does.
4)60-70psi
5)Yes
6)no issues to date and I still plan to run one with the new turbo. I'll step down to a -3an feed line one of these days and see if I still need to run a restrictor or not.

I just started a thread about a smoking problem and have found it to be the oil supply line, I had to much flow to the turbo. at first I installed a .060 that helped then went to a .046 and the problem started to go away.

1) what turbo do you have- gt42 76mm
2) are you using a restrictor in the oil feed line- yes
3) what size restrictor?- started with a .060 and went to a .046
4) what oil pressure does your engine see near redline?-70psi
5) has the restrictor cured your smoking issues?- not at first then it started to clear up
6) lastly, if you have used a restrictor in the past and it cause problems please post up some details-no problems yet
7) what size oil feed line do you use? -4

I use n2o jets, and drill a small hole in the fitting that the oil supply line hooks to. the -4 line will still seal around the n20 jet.

could you just run a resiviour inline with the feedline? like maybe a 10oz resivour like 7 or 8 inches before the turbo. no check valve and would catch all the the oil comming down.......... or maybe not.... hmm maybe someone could elaborate on that idea...

I'd bet that return line size and crankcase pressure has more of an effect on needing a restrictor then the rest of your questions

On my 6.0 DIY kit, I had to use a .84 N2O jet. I had a good drain too, but without the restrictor, it would always smoke on decel
