LS2 cam choice now for future FI plans
The car is an '05 GTO M6 with mods in my sig, stock 3,46 gears. I am debating if I should go with a cam now that will work with the Procharger down the road or save the cash and wait a year + to save for the Procharger. What cam I should go with that would still have a good power increase NA as well as lend itself to FI later on if I do go that direction. Would a supercharger cam still make decent power NA until I have the funds to add the D1SC? I want tons of powa (Procharger) but I want that nice healthy cam lope too.
Up until I fell in love the the Procharger I was planning on the F13 or F14 on a 112-113. I do know a guy that has the TR 224 with his TT WS-6 setup and it works well, I am just looking for some input on what to do with the LS2.
Thanks for any input.

I went with a custom cam for my TBSS that is getting turbo'd next month. 226/232 .569/.574 113+4 standard lopes. It made 390 cam only with a clutch driven fan sucking 10-15 horsepower off the top. That is also through 20 inch wheels and 4.10 gears. I am hoping to make 600 at the wheels after the turbo. I guess 500 would be ok too.

^^^ turbo cam /= sc cam. You can make a decent amount more hp on a cam speced for a procharger while NA, and have a nice lope. id say keep the lsa around 114, and keep the exhaust about 8* longer than the intake. it all depends how big u wana go and what heads you are using. you also want a lobe that ramps up quickly.

This cam has a nice lope to it. I have video of it idling in a Camaro SS in the project car section of my website, the one that we put a STS Turbo on. Bob

Great guys, this is what I was looking for. I am planning on retaining the stock LS2 243 casting heads for a while with or w/o the Procharger. I am looking into the cam with respect to whether or not it would give enough benefits now to put it in or just be happy with the power the car makes until the Procharger is in the budget.
Bob, from the sounds of that SS, I am thinking it just may be. It would make sense to get the cam from you as well since you are where I was planning on getting the Procharger later on. Can you PM me a package price for that with springs and pushrods, seals, etc? Would I need duals springs with that cam and will that size lobe be alright with the stock 3.46 gears? It was my b-day yesterday too, I am thinking of getting this for myself .
thanks again.

cool man, I have been following your build from the GTO site too, that thing should be a blast with the turbo.
