Default prochargher inlet hat options (Cobra head intake)

I have a 01 SS with a D1-sc Procharger system installed,

As we all know the stock Procharger inlet hat is very restrictive,
A friend of mine tested his car by removing the whole intake, (filter, hose, and hat) he was making 12.5 PSI , after removing the Hat he took the car for a quick blast and then seen 15.5 PSI on his boost gauge,
3 PSI is a lot of boost to loose.

I am about to get my car tuned next week, i wanted to know what others are doing to replace the stock hat,

I was thinking of installing one of those 4"Cobra rubber intake hats,

The Cobra looks just like the stock procharger one, but wider and a full 4"

Has anyone tryed a cobra?
If so how well does it fit? and did you pick up any boost or power,
Please let me know

thank you

We managed to pick up 3psi and about 100rwhp by using a 4" aluminum elbow. To do this, you need to loose your ac and you need to notch the bottom of the radiator support. You move the radiator forwards and theres enough clearence to put a elbow and a filter. If you dont mind cutting the car and loosing ac, its a simple mod that gains huge power. I'll get some pictures up tommrow.

It was with a d1. You can also gain power by ditching those sidemount intercoolers and going with a single front mount. It will cool better as it gets more airflow.

yea i know all about the short comings of the ATI kit, haha. most likely the setup i will do for this particular customer I have in mind is a front mount with a F1, on a 400"+ motor.

You can still od the intake elbow with the f1, however, i would try to put as big of airfilter on the elbow as possible, to eliminate restrictions with a large blower like that.
