Default PCV suggestions w/pics

Well Ive been going over the car lately... really looking over..

The PCV isnt setup right on my car it looks more of breather system, but only for the passenger side... I have one catchcan from the passenger valve cover and to the throttle body.. nothing from the driver side.. Kinda curious how the guys with stock valve covers are running their lines ..

Im gonna get a diffrent catchcan (space limited) kinda curious what you guys suggest.

thanks,
Greg

Well Im open to suggestions.. but I want to keep oil out of the intake .. so a catchcan is in order, since we know that some oil does get by. I want to get it before it gets me

Im just curious how some of the guys are setting up their Pcv system with the stock valve covers... Do you add bigger fittings to the covers and run to the catchcan ...then to the intake before the turbo...

your PCV looks wacked. I cant make out what goes where with the plate of black noodles everywhere. Make me a drawing of what goes where. I see one problem already, the breather on the catch can...

The catchcan line goes to the valvecover nipple passenger side.. which is shown in the 2nd pic ... the line off the 90 elbow on the throttle body just has a bolt stuck in it and thats it... nothing hooked up to the intake or anything.. the lines that have the white connector just are hooked to nothing on the other side you cant see..

Thats why Im looking for catchcan suggestions and stuff..

Line from turbo, vacuum, to top catch can. Line from TB to catch can. Breather on valve cover.

Thats a basic setup that should work unless your going for a hard core racer setup.

So am I running the line from the Passenger valve cover to the catchcan and a breather on the driver side?

Bringing this one back up...

Anyone recall the hose diameter coming off the stock valve covers? I'm looking to order a catch can with a breather like right now.

Yeah looks like 3/8 based on the replies in this thread:

https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...&highlight=nlp

I would have considered this catch can from NLP except that I think I would need a breather with a big ol' filter on top due to crankcase pressure...

breather ona catch can is pointless... The PCV will pull air from the least restrictive source (the breather) before it pulls it from the crank case. Use the drivers side port on the VC to put in a breather andd pull vacumme from the LS6 cover and the pass VC.

That only has 1 inlet. Its just a catch tank.

John isnt looking to run a PCV, just vent the crankcase without spitting oil out of valve cover breathers I assume..

I use a catch can on the PCV line going into the intake with two breathers on the valve covers and some use the catch can betwen the valve covers and the turbo inlet to keep the oil out.

There is a few ways of doing it that works..

If thats the case, then the Moroso one would work, but it wont work for a PCV setup.
