Default where do you guys start to tune your boosted setup

Where are you guys STARTING to tune your setup... meaning what method do you use to get the base- do you use:

the street, track, or dyno....

im starting to find that trying to start tunning on my local 8th mile tracks just aint a long enough stretch

and doing over a 100mhp on back roads doesnt sound fun to me

and i dont have any local dynos... so what are you guys starting with?

please remember this is only asking where you START to tune your setup...

I am lucky enough to have a dyno close by, but it's only 2wd, so we still have to tune the silvy ss and the escalade on the road. Your best bet is to have a friend who doesn't give a **** about his license drive while you tune. BTW, watch for deer. Even a 45mph encounter can be 3-4k worth of damage.

Its hard to tune a turbo setup on the dyno because it doesnt load it right (from what Ive heard). Im tuning mine on the road.

With a mustang dyno you can tune it under a load. Also dynojet offers the eddy current option too.

I get it 90% on the road, then usually use a Mustang dyno to push it. Too difficult to tune on the road... pushing your luck with a car this fast.

I recommend initial tuning on the street (driving normally) and finish up on the dyno. If the part throttle VE table values and spark tables are not right, then the car will add (or subtract) from the long term fuel trims and this will skew or totally mess up the WOT tuning.

I've spent about 2 weeks + 300 miles of driving to get the car part throttle tuned (till I had to go on deployment). Worlds better, but still not done. Once all the part throttle is set, then the dyno can be used to finish the WOT runs with the 2bar MAP option.
