Can I install a s/c with this setup?
I have basically a stock bottom end, patriot ls6 59cc heads, 231/237 cam and the head gaskets are the gaskets that texas speed sent with the heads. Is the compression ratio too high to run a s/c?

So your telling me it can be done? What kind of boost did you run and how much much was the hp and tq. Car is not particularly a dd but it does get driven on the street occasionally. I also do go to the track a couple of times a year.

The LS2 engines are not much lower in compression, and they run just fine at 7 to 8 psi of boost from an ATI ProCharger. With the camshaft you have, I'd say you should be able to run 6 psi of boost without having detonation problems. Bob

I have a friend running 5 psi with a d1sc procharger on a h/c vette with 11:1. He doesnt have any detonation problems. He also runs 8 psi with 110oct without any problems. Just get a good tune and youll be fine is my guess.

Yeah no kidding.... If you are gonna spend the money to go FI, why hold yourself back by the casting? Heck, sell those that you have and put a few hundred with the cash you collect and you can buy a newer set of bigger combustion chambered heads.

This is all sounding pretty good. I've thought about changing out the heads, but if I could get say 5 to 8 lbs of boost with the setup I have now, what hp would that put me up to? I'm already at 425 on a dynojet and I think it was 398 on a mustang dyno. Would I be getting to a point where the bottom end wouldn't hold up?

We see an average increase of 140 rwhp with 8 psi of boost. At 6 psi and a good tune, you should be able to enjoy the added power without having to worry about your shortblock. We try to keep rwhp around 500 on our Mustang Dyno on the stock bottom end, we've had good results with longetivity at keeping the rwhp in this range. Bob
