Default STS weather life

Whats up everyone. I'm in the military and I'm preparing to deploy 6-8 months. I don't have the kit installed yet but I'm thinking of doing it before I leave. The car will be stored outside though, do you think there would be any problems with doing this? The car is going to be in California.

its not gonna damage anything if you leave it out. as long as you "store" the car correctly

should be fine. I have a T3T4 setup remote style on my rockcrawler and it has sat all winter and a bunch of the summer for 3 years. Like stated above just store the car correctly.

GOOD LUCK on your deployment!!!!

just make sure you disconnect the battery prior otherwise it will be DOA when you try to start it up.

If my STS can survive in rainy Hawaii.....you'll be fine

BTW, feel grateful you only have a 6-8 month deployment! Beats the 12-14 month "tour" I'm currently on!

Yep, in Iraq. Nope, the pipes on the turbo won't rust. The turbine housing on the outside will (it's iron I believe), but internally it'll be fine.

If you have a friend that can start it up once a month, I'd do that. Otherwise just make sure to park it on relatively level ground. Nose high and oil will pool in the turbo and seep past the bearins into the intake/exhaust over time. Nose low and some oil will be drawn from the turbo oil galleries. Neither of these will ruin the turbo, just not really good for it.
