Default Will a 12 rib fit on an F-body?

I need to get rid of my belt slip. I have been thinking of having a 12 rib pulley (crank and blower) made to replace my 8 rib.

Before anyone asks, I am running the SDCE kit already. According to the formula, I am maxing out the F1 impeller speed, but I am only getting about 12lbs if that. This is on my 8:1 comression 408, but I would think I would get more boost than that out of the F1.

My current pulley combo is 7.25" crank pulley and 4.1" blower pulley (F1 step up ratio of 5.4)

Has anyone else gone with the 12 rib?

going to have to make it yourself or have someone make it custom.

I'm sure it would fit if you moved the radiator forward some.

Reichard Racing can make you the custom pulleys. So should Procharger. They set my D1-sc kit up with the 12rib pulleys when it was ordered. Lt1 car though.

I think you can have a 12 rib setup on a F-body. I saw a car at the shop with a 12 rib F1-R setup on it. The new owner doesnt know where the setup came from since he bought the car like that.

Something else might be going on here...I have the same set up and I'm able to make 18lbs @ 7-7200rpms. The max F1 impeller speed is 70,000 rpms / 1525 cfms with an unrestriced inlet. With my pullies (7.25" Crank / 4" blower) I'm at 68,530 rpm (blower speed) at 7,000rpms...

I've had zero problems with the 8 rib SDCE set up. Do you have a FMIC?

Yes, I have a 31"x12"x4" FMIC and I spin mine up to 7200rpms.

Check www.aspracing.com for custom pullies as well. I have 3 from them and the quality is great.

ASP could probably help you out as well. I know they know offer a larger GTO ProCharger crank pulley, as one member here had them make one for him. Bob

What are you doing, filter wise if any, for the inlet of the blower??

I had ASP make all my pulleys to spec.

No reason why they cant help you....fast efficient service too.

I have now ordered a couple of new blower pulleys from Reichard. Ive been told, not to expect them in a hurry....but they will be very good when they arrive.

Belt slip is caused by several factors. A 12 rib or a cog can address some of them.

You can stand up the radiator since you are no longer using the stock airbox.

When I put the F1-R in the car... The radiator will be custom to be shorter, but thicker. This will allow a clear space infront of the inlet of the F1-R to fit a 4" 90 degree elbow or even a filter than stick off the front of the car.
