Default what do you know about these pistons??

Im looking at a set of Mahle 4032 high silicone/low expansion pistons for a 402 iorn blocked stroker that im going to build with a maxed out d1sc blower. Does anyone know how these pistons are for blown applications? anyone using them, what do you guys think.

Used Them In A 383 Build W A D1sc Set Up. Awesome Pistons, Lightweight, Durable, Coated Skirts, Coated Tops, One Of The Best Pistons Out There. Now If You Are Really Going To Poor The Boost To It, Say 16psi+, I Might Say Use J/e Or Diamond With Thicker Ring Lands.

i have those same pistons.....they will work but i prefer the much thicker ringlands of the diamonds. I wont use these Mahles again. W2W loves them and has a lot of success with them. I lifted a ringland on the mahles...once it was broke, i could see how very thin they are. Just my 2 cents..maybe ill post up a pic.

I was recommended those pistons, soon to be in car, from my builder. I will be running pretty high boost on a 402 with S85 turbo and said those would be good and give me the dish that I need for the low compression I need. No results yet for ya as the build is not yet done.

With high boost I would go with the 2618 pistons over 4032.

I do see what you are talking about as in a different thread https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...t=4032+pistons Wheel 2 Wheel stated that typically the 2618's are used for the racing engines and high boost, but I dont plan on changing them out all that often, as would be required with the 2618's. Being able to run 800 to 900 hp is fine, and they are really tough pistons. You can argue both ways as both are good pistons.

I have the 4032 Mahle pistons in my truck. It is now at 53,000 boosted miles on the same set of pistons. The engine made 900hp on a engine dyno before install into the truck. In the truck it has been run mostly in the 15 psi range, that would be around 800 at the flywheel.
In my race engine I use the 2618 Mahle boost piston. It made 1700hp on the engine dyno at 30psi running 7500 rpm. In the car we added boost to 32 psi and nitrous (.060 jet), we also ran the rpm up to 9000 to help achieve our goals. I just pulled the pistons out of the race engine on Wendsday and they look great. I still need to measure them, but they appear to be ready for more rounds.
