Default Thinking of FI my stroker.

I have a 414 stroker and was thinking of a s/c or a turbo. I have a flat top piston w/ 2cc. If I just change my heads to a stock 6.0 317 cast what would my comp be and could I do a s/c? I am trying to do this w/out tearing the motor apart just to change the pistons.

Jeremy, the cost of swapping your setup over to makeing REAL HP is going to cost you $$$

Sure all you could do now is swap heads, but you wouldnt be able to make alot of boost b/c of compression. what's the point of spending 3-5K if you can only run 5-10lbs of boost??

IMO, if you're going to take the FI plunge, do it right. you'll want new pistons/rings/heads and then you'll need to upgrade your entire fuel system to support the new power.

This is one reason why i was on bottle for so long. I told myself that i didnt want to go FI and make the same HP(710HP on the bottle) or just a little more HP. If i was going to do it, i'd go for a BIG setup.

Do it once and do it right.

You compression is going to be on the high side... U might get away with 5-7psi from a Procharger.

by using your current piston and 317 casting heads your static compression will still be around ~10.5:1

I could do a procharger around that comp. Even at low boost I should make good power.

On that motor and compression a D-1SC can supply you with enough air up to 750rwhp. If you dont have an A/C and plan to change the pistons in the future then I would look at starting with a larger blower such as F1-A or F1-C.

Good luck.

With 10.5/1 compression, a ProCharger and 93 octane will give you quite a bit of boost before you have to worry about detonation. Bob

What do you mean? Who have I lost too? I have only lost twice with my set up. One was a 522ci stroker RSI viper and I lost by 1 car and that was motor to motor, and the other was a N2O car with me on motor and him on N2O.

You have to race people to actually win or lose

On the street its anything goes...Spray, NA, FI, etc....Cant complain when you bring a knife (NA car) to a gun fight.

You've had enough tuning issues as it is, pull the pistons and swap em. move to a 6.0 head ( I have some that will outflow what you got on your car by a huge margin) and put it back together. Put you a custom kit on the car with a 91.5mm Thumper in the gril and drive the **** out of it. Please dont take my advice. My car is still in pieces.

i'm thinking of going with some ported L92 w/ a carb intake to match....but still just thinking about it. lots more research to do.
