I have heard that long tubes aren't the way to go because they let out heat.

My new RT-cat/x-pipe has a 2-3/4" dia pipe, and
the stock one is 2-1/2" dia.

I had a hard buck at 5lbs of boost and 40deg a few days after I installed this pipe. Does anyone think the pipe variation could have anyway caused this?
