Default Stock crank or Forged crank???

I am going to buy a shortblock soon. But I have noticed that all the shortblocks that I have looked at that stay around the stock cubes are all stock Cranks.

But I am plannig on going to go Turbo and its going to be a T76 or T88. So, Is the stock cranks strong enough to handle that much power??

Thanks
Chase

I'd ditch the stock crank if I were making more than 1000HP at the flywheel.. But that's just me.

I'll agree with Silver Surfer... I don't think you're planning to push over 1000HP.. It's quite a strong crank.

Most just polish the stock crank and move on. It is good to 1000 hp.

This C5 with twin turbos has been running strong for several years on the stock crankshaft. Bob

That's what the wise elders say.

I have NEVER heard of anyone bustin a crank from to much power...If I was going with a stock displacement, I would definately go stock...

A stock crank has made 1500 hp with no problems.

I'm sticking with my stock crank. Polish it up a little and good to go!

The stock crank should be fine for a T76 or T88. If you want to beef up the bottom end use ARP main studs.

I've made 867rwhp with a 348ci using a stock crank.

I do however have a Callies forged 3.622 sitting here for the next engine in case I need it.

I am only planning on pushing about 750hp to 800hp to the wheels. So, that sounds like the stock crank will be fine. I appreciate the comments.

Thanks
