Default Single turbo piping size to turbo?

We are getting ready to start fabricating the plumbing for a single turbo F-body project. I am using 6.0L manifolds and was wondering what size pipe you guys that have done these are using. This is the pipes that will exit the manifolds and merge before the turbo inlet. I have seen a few pictures but wasn't able to tell what diameter the pipes where. Looks like it might be 2 1/2" . I also need a source for 304L stainless flanges to attach to the manifolds.

Thanks

Howard

I used 2.5 from the manifolds to the turbo then I used 3 inach after the turbo to the motor. You could use 2.5 if you have a not big turbo.

Thats what I thought!

2.5" from the manifolds to the turbo and I am using a 4" to 3" reducer and 3" out the back. I saw the flanges on SW site. They didn't look like the where stainless.....

On another note....what about options for wastegates. What size is a good size for the bypass.

Thanks guys!

Sounds like a fun project, I have a GT47-88 turbo, 8:1 348ci, with a air to air frontmount.

3" from truck manifolds to T-6 flange. Turbo has to have a 4" downpipe ton an undercar cutout before reducing to a 3" exhaust.

Well, this is for a high HP car.Street car could be reduced more.

SS flanges= Stainless works.

S-series turbos have a 5" exhaust outlet and it was recommended to run a 5" downpipe if possible...anyone have a clue how that could happen?

What do you mean? You can run a 5" if you like, just needs some fine honing to make it fit. A 4" will work just fine for 90% of the people running these Turbo's though.
We have a S85 coming for our truck project and might run the 5" since we have the room but was told a 4" would be fine.
