Default for turbo apps why carb style intakes

I been searching and trying to find out why peeps go with the carb style intake over the ls6? Seeing guys running 8.50's with the ls6 like twntrboce he told me if im not planning on spinning my engine over 7k i dont need the carb style intake well i dont know if im planning on spinning my motor that high hope i dont have to . But he is running dayum good and there are others also with the ls6. So is it that guys go with the carb intake just so they dont have to do it again when they go faster? If so that makes sence meaning what will i loose running the carb style vs the ls6. Before you guys ask im running a 370ci motor planning on a pt 91.5 th400 so whats your imput on this go ahead and get the carb stlye or go ls6

I think the advantage of running a carb intake was getting an even amount of air to each cylinder.

Do a search. I started the same thread and it got 50 posts of answers. No real benefit for the switch.

This is correct. It's not for power reasons but for safety. The #7 and #8 cylinders are the first to go lean with the LSX design and alot of guys were popping their motors because of it. The carb style has air coming in from the top and gets more evenly distributed. That's the reason I switched.

If your not running a carb how can fuel distribution have anything to do with it? Fuel is injected directly into the cylinder.

i plan on doing the carb intake w/ my setup. from reading the air distribution is argueable b/c the runners are not equal length.

another benefit though is you can run a 90mm TB instead of bottle necking the boost w/ a ls6 throttle body.

Never had a FAST. I actually had a BBK when I was using nitrous. When I decided to go turbo I sold it and bought a Victor Jr. with fuel rails and a Aarons elbow. I do have a FAST 90 TB though. Wish I didn't but I do.

I'm sold on the Carb intake setup. Made the switch many times, then the cars could be tuned leaner without affecting #7+#8 cylinders. On low HP cars it makes little difference(under 600rwhp) but they start to shine in the 750rwhp+ range.

Is it safe to say that this intake will fit under stock SS hood?
