Default Oil drain setup.

Would really like to see some oil drain setups on turbo or Vortec cars. Pics would be nice to.

would also like to know the simple way to do it. what difficulties u guys faced ....etc.

what did u did regarding oil pan? should I drill the oil pan without taking it of as per vortec instructions?

Hardest part was drilling that big of a hole without using a press. The bit has huge flutes that act like a screw once pierced.

hey navy david, are those fitting directly into the timing cover or in the oil pan underneath, im goign to run mine either one of those ways

so its necessary to take of the oil pan? that means also i need to pull the engine or take of the k-member and mounts?

Theres a lot of shavings that go into the pan when you drill and tap a hole. I imagine you dont have to... but its your motor I had most of my motor off for the turbo install, so my pan came off easy. I also didnt have the tranny in.

I Need To Do The Oil Part Soon I Dont Wanna Drop The Pan Right Now,i Bought A New Oil Pan From Gm But I Think Its Not As Big In The Front As The Stock One To Drill And Tap.

I have my drains going into the timing cover just like Navy David. I wanted my drains higher than the oil level no matter what.

Yep. No oil pan drain. Straight into the timing cover. We had to trim the inside of the fitting. Absoultly no problems.

No fittings to the oil pan. Drains directly into the timing cover.
