Default STS + SFCs?

Has anyone installed a STS kit w/ diamond-type SFCs? I have SLPs and I don't want to give them up for a STS kit.

If so, can you post or email pics of how you did it?

Thanks.

i think you would have to redo the piping in order to make subframes fit... i had umi sfc's, and the sts charge pipe goes right in the driver's side sf's place

I was thinking about getting an STS kit until I found out that I'd have to remove my SFC's.

I'm running into (no pun intended!) the same problem; I may just remove my DR side triangular SFC and go with a simpler, one piece, single chunk of square tube that only has two points where it bolts to the bird vs. the (very stiff) 3 point design, which is currently installed.

sts kits charge pipe acts just like a sfc im in the process of removing my driver side one right now, little pain in the neck but hey i wanted this turbo kit so im not gonna let a sfc get in the way, specially when the charge pipe is a sfc. just my .2 cents

the charge pipe bolts on to the the sub frames yes but I hope you don't think that you are actually connecting the frames together in a sturdy ridged connection as a real sfc does.

I have seen one set for the STS. However, the company that made them decided to make them EXTREMELY expensive. Such a shame, greed, greed, greed.

but they are probably so expensive because they are unable to determine the market for them along with the market for the STS kits... as its a new thing and most people would normally want the turbo in the front of the car., but hey you figure all the people that have gone rear mount up here and that have wanted SFC that they would reduce the price

Ask Billy at TRT, but I think I read something about STS was coming out with a kit that works with the sfc if you already had them welded in. I think was going to added into the options/upgrades that you can get when you order the kit.

sts said the pipe connects right up where a sfc would go i got the kit the pipe is beefy looking.but you cant have the passenger sfc connected still.

I also was looking at an STS kit until I found out about the SFC issue. I would think that with that kind of power adder you would need more frame rigidity, not less.

Understood, but the extra torque created by a power adder can twist your unibody into a pretzel-like configuration, and it happens over time. Just my .02.

yeah true, but if you keep the passenger side one on,plus their piping that they claim is as strong if not stronger then a sfc. ive got the kit that pipe seems pretty strong. ill try to post a pic soon if no one seen it yet.
