Default Vortech Installation help...

Hey guys, im installing my vortech v9 aftercooled kit, and i am at the harmonic balancer part, but my problem is i think i may have misplaced the retaining bolt. does anyone know what size the bolt is or anything, the manual says i am suppose to torque the new bolt to 37 ft/lbs. and then with a torque wrench thighten it an extra 250 ft/lbs. can i buy a similar bolt from arp or what else should i do? Thank you for the help.

I would go and buy a new one from GM. I think they are only $12 or so.

Look the procedure calls for you to use the old bolt and TQ it down to 250lbs and then install a new bolt and TQ it to 37lbs of TQ I never ran anything but a GM bolt and it was fine also.

I just slapped the ARP balancer bolt on there and hammered down with the impact and red loc. I also keyed my crank for peace of mind.

I think the stock bolt is about $4 and is not to be re-used ( even though I have )

ARP do one, dont recall the price, and is re-usable........and I'll fit mine someday when I can be bothered
